What can you hope to achieve from bulking?

Bulking

Bulking in easy bodybuilding terms means gaining muscle. It involves taking the right type of diet instead of eating anything you find. If you want to gain muscle the healthy way, you must try to take proteins and carbohydrates only and no or very limited amount of fats. The reason why fat is not recommended is that fat will obscure your muscles and you will not feel like a trainer but a fat person.

The ideal time for bulking

Winters are the best time for bulking because when you gain in winters you can show it off in the summers when your sweaters and jackets are off.

Time required to see the results

Bulking results are most obvious in about fifteen to nineteen weeks, but it may vary from person to person.

The correct way of bulking

You can achieve the best bulking results if you focus on one part of your body at a time. Start with the shoulders as they are the most visible parts of the body. After you have gained half of what you want on your shoulders, you may start with the arms or chest.

Common mistakes made by a beginner

There are many mistakes which initial bodybuilders make, which do not give them bulking results which they expect.

Not eating much

Your body needs a daily percentage of proteins, carbohydrates, and good fats like omega 3-4. Keep in mind that muscles are mostly comprised of proteins, so if you take enough proteins according to your body mass index (BMI), you are most certainly going to achieve the best results.

Staying away from carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are necessary for the energy you require to exercise. Complex carbohydrates are the best to have at breakfast as they are a prolonged energy source. They are found in brown rice, potatoes and oats.

Skipping cardio

Your heart is the strongest muscle of your body, but it needs more strength once you start lifting weights, especially heavy weights. You also need to do cardio to help you maintain the size you have and to keep your muscles strong.

Not having enough rest or recovery time

Consider your body a human body rather than a machine. Don’t be too brutal as it will worsen things and will not give you the desired results. Without giving adequate time for your body to recover, you will worsen your damaged muscles.

Skipping meals

This is perhaps the worst thing you can do to your body. There is a limited storage in your body for energy if you are on a carbohydrate and protein diet. The body then starts to use the muscle that you have gained to get energy.

If you want to get the best bulking results, make sure that you avoid all the above mentioned mistakes.

If you find it difficult to eat a complete meal full of proteins and carbohydrates, then you must opt for supplements. Protein supplements are very helpful when gaining lean mass weight and muscles. Make sure you take lots of water during the intake of supplements. Supplements also have steroids, so beware of them.
